Statistics MISTY MOUNTAINS WALKING TRAILS A major source of tourism data is the regular surveys conducted nationally of domestic and international visitors in Australia. The following material is drawn from those survey results for the year ended September 2007, as published by the Regional Tourism Organisation www.tropicalaustralia.com.au . The surveys broadly indicated: - International visitor numbers for year ended June 2007 dropped by 3.1%, but visitor nights have increased by around 6.8%;
- Domestic visitor numbers have reduced slightly after a 26% growth the previous year. However visitor nights for 2007 increased by around 5%.
- Overall visitors dropped by less than 2% and visitor stays increased by 6.3%
